Spearhead Winery is one of friendliest low-key wineries in S.E. Kelowna. Luckily a mere 15 minutes away from us. This 15 acre estate, focuses on small lot Pinot Noirs and some whites. Many of the wines have won awards.

As with most wineries, you can join the Wine Club. Show casing various levels/benefits/discounts/special releases and price points. Purchase wine to take home or to enjoy on the sunny patio overlooking the vineyards, the City of Kelowna and Lake Okanagan. Bring your own lunch or charcuterie, family, friends and the dog. They do have small plates pre made for purchase if you want to go that direction.Neighbors first introduced us to Spearhead Winery several years ago, speaking of the evening events, available during summer months only. It’s a relatively new winery, starting up in 2010. Late December 2022, the Kelowna area had an unprecedented cold snap -30 Celius! That was detrimental to the wine industry, and Spearhead Winery was hit hard, losing almost 100% of its crop. So sad it was to see the damaged vines, many top dead and yet stalks trimmed and poking from the ground.There was significant bud damage, and the vines, with a hardy enough root system, may not produce a crop for up to 2 years. But they will indeed bounce back!And we are happy for that. We have had countless gatherings at Spearhead. A quiet glass of wine and snack just the two of us; or a big, loud and rambunctious family outing, seated towards the vineyard, away from the patio.
