Noir Honey Pork
Our favourite honey farm is Arlo’s Honey Farm just outside of Kelowna, B.C. The quality is outstanding. Our usual go to is Wildflower, but we bought Noir Honey recently and loved it drilled on pork and as part of a charcuterie.
Noir Honey Pork
Noir Honey is dark and smoky. Arlo’s has many other products including candles, skin care, chocolate, in addition to countless types of honey.Instead of apple sauce with pork we often sauté apple slices.

Ingredients
- 2 TBSP (36 gr) Noir Honey, divided
- 2 small boneless pork chops
- 1 medium (200 gr) Granny Smith apple (165 gr) after cored)
- 2 TBSP butter
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Pre heat grill if using to cook the pork chops or heat a little oil in a skillet if using stove top.
- Lightly salt and pepper the pork and cook to your preference. Toward the end of cooking, baste the pork chops with 1 TBSP of the honey.
- Meanwhile core the apple, cutting int 12 equal pieces.
- Melt butter in a non-stick pan and add the apple slices, sautéing until warm and little golden, but not mushy.
- Drizzle the remaining TBSP of honey over the apple slices and pork.
- *We tried a Gluten Free Couscous with this meal, but were not happy with it, so would recommend Couscous if you are not GF and rice if you are.
Notes
Because Noir Honey is dark and smoky, a Beaujolais pairs well as a red and a nice Chablis held up well in the white wine category.
We’ve paired:
- Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages 2022 ($20.00)
- Anita Beaujolais Villages 2022 (40.00)
- Louis Jadot Chablis 2022 ($45.00)
