Harissa Spice Blend Mayonnaise

Harissa often includes sun-dried peppers such as cayenne and/or Serrano. It has a deep flavour, with a bit of heat, yet not as sweet as Aleppo Pepper and not as hot as Sriracha. We have the spice blend rather than the paste, which is a staple in Tunisian cooking.

Harissa Spice Blend Mayonnaise

Harissa Paste originated in Tunisia and soon became a staple in North Africa and the Middle East. Oil can be added to the spice blend to form a paste, we find it just as easy to use the dry spice blend as a rub or mixed in a condiment such as mayonnaise or butter.
Start adding spices you may not be familiar with lightly and keep adding.
We made Harissa Mayonnaise on a hot summer night for French Fries, Lobster Tails, and Clarified Butter! Simple and decadent!

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup (51 gr) Hellman’s Real Mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp. McCormick’s Harissa Spice Blend

Instructions
 

  • Mix mayonnaise and spice.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

Pair the wine with the main attraction, and when serving fries and lobster how you go wrong with a Chablis or Chardonnay for a white wine and a medium Italian if you prefer a red!
