Aperol Spritz
This bright orange coloured aperitif has less alcohol and is much smoother than Campari. Italy has been perfecting “spritzs” for decades. A thirst quenching drink perfect for hot summer days. The Aperol Spritz mixes up quickly in a glass, no shakers required.
Aperol Spritz
A few years ago, friend Joanne sent pictures from Italy daily; and an Aperol Spritz was showing up regularly. Delicious, a bit bitter and thirst quenching, this Italian aperitif doesn’t disappoint. Using a nice dry Prosecco, mixed with the Aperol just ups the experience. Think of hot summer days in Italy. We prefer adding a drop of Orange Bitters to the spritz.
Course Aperitif
Cuisine Italian
Ingredients
- 2 oz 4 TBSP Aperol
- 2 oz 4 TBSP Dry Prosecco
- 1 drop Angostura or Fee Brothers Orange Bitters
- 1 slice orange
Instructions
- Ice in drinks is a very personal thing. Use as much or as little as you prefer. More ice will dilute the drink. I prefer 2-3 cubes; Mike likes double that.
- Add ice to a white wine glass. Then add Aperol, Prosecco, Angostura Orange Bitters and orange slice.
- Give the glass a swirl and dream of Italy.
