Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc
This is absolutely one of our “go to” New World Sauvignon Blanc wines. From the sought-after Marlborough region in New Zealand, Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc won the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world – 1990 vintage at the London International Wine and Spirit Competition.
Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand
The Sauvignon Blanc grape is grown throughout the world. Although the grape originated in France, it is grown in a variety of climates and soil types – but, with that comes markedly different flavours and aromas.New World Sauv. Blanc’s tend to be fuller bodied (rounder in wine talk), higher alcohol content, lower acidity and more pronounced fruit flavours. Boasting long sunny days and cooler nights, New Zealand put itself on the wine map with this wine.Sauvignon Blanc is a food lover’s dream. The acidity pairs really well with seafood, citrusy salads and cheese. When spring and summer meals come to the table a Sauv. Blanc is there.Serve Oyster Bay chilled. It is definitely a drink now crisp white wine. The superb pairing of goat cheese and Sauvignon Blanc is historically French and there is good reason. They are perfect together. As part of a charcuterie, pile roasted peppers on the chevre (goat cheese), serve some Valbella Pepper Pate, breads, olives and enjoy!
